Online Challenges

There are always stories going round about nasty things online, but as a school we will not share warnings about specific challenges or 'bad apps' or games and it is important that we explain why.

The reason for this is because often these challenges are hoaxes and we do not want to give them free publicity or create additional intrigue for the children. When we hear that there are challenges and dares in circulation, we talk to the children about the general risks  associated with dares and explain what can go wrong online. We use non-scary examples to talk about how to respond to dares, challenges, scares and threats.

Most importantly, we make sure they know they can talk to us if they are concerned about anything that they have seen online.
