Safer Internet Day 2019

Safer Internet Day 2019 will be celebrated on Tuesday 5th February 2019 with the theme: Together for a better internet.

In addition to hosting a range of activities on this day for the children, we will be hosting a workshop for parents and carers one week before so that you can get prepared.

In a recent DigiSafe survey, 73% of children said that they trust their parent’s advice about online safety. This is hugely encouraging and shows the level of influence you can have on your children’s online behaviour. However, only 56% said they talk to their parents about it more than once a year. With all of the changes that take place in the online world, once a year is clearly not enough.

The research has also identified lots of worrying new trends which we will look at in the workshop. To ensure that you are up-to-date  and communicating the right messages to your children, please attend our session at 09.10- 09.50 on Wednesday 30th January 2019 in the school hall.
