At John Stainer we love to celebrate our differences and learn creatively about our own and other religions. Every half term we dedicate one whole day to each world religion. The children move around to different activities in the day, where they work with children across their key stage, to understand the different elements, features and practices of that religion. Children take part in activities ranging from listening to stories, acting out plays, making crafts, writing poems and prayers or presenting their work on the computer. We teach tolerance of other faiths by allowing the children to discuss and debate ideas, as well as appreciating that a different way of expressing beliefs can be important to other people. We celebrate our RE days by displaying the work the children have done, around the school.
